Sheep traditionally belonged to the Herdade and yet part of the large, clay-plastered sheep barn has now given way to the wine camp, they are hard to imagine from the overall picture. The shepherd with his family and their herding dogs live on the farm and take care of the numerous lambs that are born every year.
The sheep are a valuable part of the sustainable management of the farm. They graze in the various areas under cultivation, thus ensuring natural fertilisation, ventilation of the soil and containment of weeds, which do not have to be machined. In addition, the sheep manure of the crammed sheep is collected and composted. The compost is used in turn for soil improvement.
